The Sunday Drive – R2 Crosses 2000 VINs, R1 Lineup Shuffle, and IONNA

Plenty to get through this week. From June 22 through June 28, R2 deliveries kept ramping up, the R1 lineup got shuffled around, and I finally put out the video about ending my Gen 2 R1T lease early. Here is the rundown.

R2 crossed 2,000 VINs as deliveries ramp, which is a real signal that the line is starting to find its rhythm. More in Rivian R2 Crosses 2000 VINs as Deliveries Ramp.

An R2 test mule was also spotted in Canada, an early hint of where R2 goes next. Rivian R2 Test Mule Spotted in Canada.

On that note, a quick PSA. Get a third party quote from Carvana and Ever before you trade your Rivian in for an R2. It could save you real money over the in-app trade number. PSA, Get a Carvana Quote Before Trading Your Rivian for an R2.

Dug into whether Rivian can actually hit its 80% mobile service target, which carries more weight now after last week’s service layoffs. My read on “Can Rivian Hit an 80% Mobile Service Target?”

And IONNA hit 115 charging sites across 30 states with a new Seffner opening, one that happens to be here in Florida. More in IONNA Hits 115 Charging Sites Across 30 States With New Seffner Opening.

That is the week. R2 deliveries keep climbing, and the R1 lineup keeps shifting underneath them. My own R2 is still sitting in the queue with no VIN, so I am watching that 2,000 number with a little extra interest. Catch you on the next Sunday Drive.
