Wassym teased Launch Mode coming to the R2 Performance, and the clip shows a 0 to 60 of 3.45 seconds, quicker than Rivian's own stated 3.6.

Some R2 reservation holders are reporting their invitation windows suddenly shrinking, with one owner watching a four to eight week estimate drop to one to two weeks. It does not mean the truck shows up that fast, but it does move the whole timeline forward, and it hints that Rivian is feeling good about the ramp.

Tom Moloughney of State of Charge ran the first independent 10 to 80 percent charging test on a Rivian R2 and it finished in 26.9 minutes, two minutes ahead of Rivian's official 29 minute estimate. Peak power hit 226 kW, and there is a warning for owners planning to fast charge through an adapter.

The first used Rivian R2 is already up for sale, a Performance Launch Package on Cars.com asking 79,900 dollars. That is over 19,000 above new, and it probably will not be the last one to move at a premium while delivery timelines stay tight.

Rivian just told Canadian R2 reservation holders when to expect their first order invitations, and the answer is the first half of 2027. Still no Canadian price though, since the old $66,500 CAD figure got pulled a while back. Here is what the update actually means if you are waiting up north.

Rivian quietly updated the R2 reservation page today, and it is a genuinely useful change. Reservation holders with a deposit down can now see a window for when they will be invited to order, based on their configuration and place in the queue. One reservation holder is looking at December 2026 through February 2027 after passing on a launch edition. It is the first time most holders have had a real sense of where they stand.

Rivian said back in May that R2 factory pickup at Normal was off the table. An owner just found the option live in the order flow, factory tour and all, and the company has not said a word about the change.

R2 config emails spiked last week without many deliveries to show for it yet. Owners are now telling me Rivian is lining up a big delivery push this week, with dates already on the calendar into early July.
