Rivian updated its R2 order invitation support page and it now lists delivery timelines for the newest options, so if you’re eyeing Esker Silver you’re looking at 6-10 weeks, while Borealis, Forest Green, and the Coastal Cloud interior are all sitting at 8-12 weeks.
Invites started going out on June 9 and they’re still coming in batches. Your reservation timestamp and delivery location matter most, and if you live near a Rivian Service + Demo Center you’ll likely see yours sooner.
R1 owners get bumped up too, though Rivian’s mixing in non-owners so it’s not just current owners at the front of the line.
Got a lease ending soon? You can add it in your Rivian Account and Rivian will factor it in where it can. If it’s a Rivian lease, they’ve already got it.
Some folks are also getting picked at random for an early invite, which Rivian says helps it dial in its timing estimates.
Keep in mind your price and config aren’t locked until you confirm your order, and since the page still says 4-8 weeks after confirming in general, I’d plan around the longer number if you’re going with one of the new colors.

Invite to order Aug 27th. Ordered launch green, black interior and 20″ AT that day. In DC. No current lease. No VIn still.
Stay positive! I ordered Aug 27th, got the invite to finalize (+ VIN) Sep 18th, and after filling things out the same day they gave me the delivery date of Sep 24th. So even if VIN takes a bit, delivery could follow quickly.
Reserved mid 2025. Ordered sept 1st. went with performance, esker silver, black interior. Delivery scheduled for 29th of sept.
Got my invite on September 1. Locked in my order September 9. White / coastal cloud / 21in wheels. No VIN yet.
North Jersey, 11 Miles from Blauvelt Service Center. Reserved 2/18/25, invited to order 8/18, waited for Coastal Cloud, placed order on 8/27 with an 8- 12-week timeframe. No VIN yet; constant emails telling me my vehicle is in pre-production.
Ordered White/CC with 20” ATs on Aug 27 and picked it up on Sept 17th in STL.

Reserved my R2 on 5/3/26, invite to order on 9/7, delivery on 9/24. Went with Half Moon Grey, 20″ wheels. I’m a new Rivian customer but I do live in Normal, IL, so I’m assuming that helped.
Invite/order 9/1 Forest Green, Black, 20″ AT and no VIN. I live near a new Rivian Service Center and RJ “liked” my comment on a Rivian post last week on Facebook. Hoping that was a clue to move me up in the line.
