The Sunday Drive, Rivian Week in Review, June 29 to July 5, 2026

What a week to wrap up the quarter. Between June 29 and July 5, Rivian dropped its Q2 delivery numbers, shared its guidance for the rest of the year, and kept pushing R2 deliveries. Hope you all had a fun 4th of July weekend. Here’s what happened.

Someone spotted an R2 with LiDAR out in California, which gives another clue about Rivian’s autonomous tech. Rivian R2 LiDAR Spotted in California.

Rivian Care expanded again, now covering 31 states.

That’s the week. Q2 is officially in the books, and the R2 ramp is basically the main story as we head into the second half of the year.
