Rivian Plans Major R2 Delivery Push This Week

Last week, I noticed a big jump in R2 configuration emails, but so far, I haven’t seen many actual deliveries popping up in the owner groups or on social media. I have a feeling that’s about to change. I’ve heard from a few different people that Rivian is gearing up for a major R2 delivery push this week, and the messages I’m getting from owners match up with that. Quite a few folks already have appointments on the calendar—even into early July.

So, it turns out all those emails weren’t just for show. They kicked off the start of real deliveries in bigger numbers.

What really stands out to me is the timing. The quarter wraps up on June 30th. If Rivian wanted to boost its Q2 numbers, you’d think they’d try to pack as many appointments as possible into the last days of June, not let them spill into July. But that’s not what I’m hearing. Most owners say their appointments are right at the end of the quarter or just after. Maybe production timing didn’t allow for more before the quarter closed, or maybe they’re spreading out the first wave to keep things organized. Honestly, I don’t know for sure, and I won’t pretend that I do.

Either way, what really matters is how many deliveries actually happen. This finally feels like the first real R2 delivery push, not just the slow, quiet rollout we’ve seen so far.

For what it’s worth, I’m still waiting for mine too. I don’t have a VIN or a delivery date yet. I went with a Launch Green R2 on 20-inch All-Terrain wheels, so I’m in the same boat as a lot of you, which involves refreshing my email more often than I’d like to admit.

If you already have an appointment, I’d love to hear how it goes. The first round of owner feedback will really show us what the R2 is like to live with, not just to test drive. I’ve driven one, but I haven’t owned one yet. That’s about to change for a lot of people, and this week should be when things really get started.

  1. Thanks for the update, Jose! Can’t wait for your full review and so glad you went with the AT’s!! Can’t wait to hear how quiet they are around town and on highway! Congrats in advance! 🙂

  2. @Josh Wardell, I was thinking the same thing. It would be cool to see deliveries by City/State.
