Borealis is now available on R2 as of this morning, so if you’ve been invited to order, you can pick it in the configurator right now.
With Borealis live, every option for R2 Performance is now orderable, including Borealis, Forest Green, and the Coastal Cloud Signature interior. If you’ve been waiting to lock in a specific spec, you don’t have to wait anymore.
If you were sitting on your invite because the paint or interior you wanted wasn’t there yet, today’s the day to go back in and build the R2 you actually had in mind.
It matters beyond the color itself. A complete configurator makes the ordering experience feel finished, and it gives owners a clearer look at what the Performance trim really offers before they commit.
Ordering is still limited to invited owners, but a new wave of R2 invites is rolling out today, and since Rivian likes to send them on Tuesdays, keep an eye on your inbox if you haven’t gotten yours yet. If you get one, let me know in the comments below.
Im glad i mentioned it to those at Rivian when i was there last june working there installing the paint line for the R2 that Color is it hot and shouldn’t only be sold on the R1s as a special and be and option for all of the Rivains, ive seen it on the R1s baby frame and it was very eye catching in the Factory so i knew that it would do the same on the streets, graphics r ok but just sell decent colors that will sell the vehicles its not that hard, like i had mentioned about 2 yrs ago put a color wheel on the website and let consumer’s pick their favorite colors and then pick from there, its just that easy why do manufacturer make it so hard, the consumer is the one that will use it everyday, sometimes it doesn’t have to be flashy it just has to be there, sometimes less is more and at time way to much,
I received my invite this morning, but when I went to configure, it’s told me Borealis isn’t available yet.
My order went through, but I already had an invite for a while.
Got mine. Had been told Nov-Dec, so much earlier than expected!
Weird. My order window has been open since early August, but it’s still telling me it’s not available as of 2:15 PST. Well, I’ve waited this long. I’m sure it will open up in the next couple of days! Woo hoo! Merry Christmas to me!
Good news. It makes the Rivian online configuration and order process easier for first time EV buyers. It would be interesting if Rivian posted R2 sales numbers for first time EV buyers.
I have my invite, but waiting for the lidar and the new chip to be released.
