More Improvements Coming to Rivian Performance Upgrade Later This Year, Confirmed by Wassym

After sharing my video yesterday about the Rivian Performance Upgrade on my R1S Dual Large, Rivian’s Head of Software, Wassym Bensaid, jumped into the conversation on Twitter with some clarification. There had been rumors floating around that the All-Purpose drive mode doesn’t see any improvements from the Performance Upgrade, but that’s false. Wassym confirmed that All-Purpose mode does in fact get a performance boost, with better acceleration and torque shaping. He also mentioned more improvements are coming to the Performance Upgrade later…

How Rivian Cut Carbon While Adding Range and Horsepower

One of the things I’ve always loved about Rivian is that they don’t just focus on speed or range, they also put real effort into making the vehicles more sustainable. The new R1 Tri-Motor and Quad-Motor are the perfect example of that. Rivian shared that today’s R1 lineup has nearly a 25% lower carbon footprint compared to the original 2022 R1T and R1S Launch Editions. Rivian Drops Auxiliary Brake Light, Reintroduces R1T Tent

Rivian wasn’t done after yesterday’s Gear Shop drop. Today they rolled out a new Auxiliary Brake Light for the R1T. Basically, it’s a simple but smart add-on for anyone throwing big stuff over the bed, like a rooftop tent. Normally that would block your third brake light, which legally always has to be visible. Rivian’s solution? Mount this brake light on your Cargo Crossbars and plug it into the trailer connector using the 7-pin. Done. Price is $200. And speaking of tents, Rivian also brought…
