Rivian just told Canadian R2 reservation holders when to expect their first order invitations, and the answer is the first half of 2027. Still no Canadian price though, since the old $66,500 CAD figure got pulled a while back. Here is what the update actually means if you are waiting up north.
Rivian raised its full year guidance to 65,000 to 70,000, but the first half only covered 22,559 of it. The back half now has to nearly double the Q2 pace, and R2 is the only thing that can get it there.
R2 deliveries have started. Rivian moved 12,194 vehicles in Q2, beat its outlook, and bumped its full year guidance up on the strength of it.

A Half Moon Grey Rivian R2 with LiDAR was spotted testing near Irvine, California. It is a validation build ahead of the LiDAR equipped R2 arriving in late 2026/early 2027.
