Is Rivian’s Travel Kitchen Worth $1400? The Answer Is… Yes!

Recently, Rivian announced the release of its new Travel Kitchen, a sleek and innovative addition to its outdoor adventure gear lineup. Priced at $1400, the Travel Kitchen has features catering to the modern camper or road trip enthusiast. It boasts two induction burners, hanging lights for better visibility during nighttime cooking, a utensil tray for easy organization, and a foldable design that allows it to be packed away neatly into a suitcase-like form.

While less expensive options might offer basic functionality, they often lack the tailored fit, reliability, and features of the Travel Kitchen, making it a worthwhile investment for those seeking a superior and hassle-free cooking experience during their adventures.

That said, below are some cheaper alternatives to the Rivian Travel Kitchen for those on a budget.

Chuck Box Camp Kitchen – $379

The Chuck Box Camp Kitchen is a comprehensive all-in-one solution for your outdoor cooking needs. It includes five storage compartments, a pull-out utility drawer, a four-compartment utensil drawer, and a quick-release latch. The quick-release top can be used for various functions, such as a sink, utility bin for dishwashing, or additional storage. Please note that the Chuck Box Camp Kitchen does not come with a camp stove or dishes.

Nomad Kitchen Nano – $999

The Nomad Kitchen Nano is an ideal pull-out kitchen for any vehicle, designed for convenience and versatility. It fits seamlessly into the trunk of your R1S or the bed of your R1T, offering a complete setup for on-the-go cooking. The unit features a stainless steel washbasin, a bamboo cutting board, a storage cubby, a drawer designed to hold a two-burner stove (stove not included), two hanger hooks on each side, space for a water tank and faucet, and comes with a bolt-on riser and leveling shim.

“Cookmate” by Owleys – $475.50

The Cookmate kitchen box is a compact, all-in-one portable camp kitchen conveniently packed into an easy-to-carry case. It includes a stove, sink, cutting board, two tables, a lantern holder, and a spacious internal storage area, making it a versatile and organized solution for your outdoor cooking needs.

IGT Camping Table with Stove – $179.99

Looking for a simpler and more affordable option? The Onlyfire IGT Camping Table offers a gas stove with a carrying base for easy portability. It also provides ample space for food preparation, allowing you to chop ingredients and toss them directly into the stove.
