RivianTrackr Tire Guide Now Shows Real-World Efficiency Data Powered by Rivian Roamer

The RivianTrackr Tire Guide just got a serious upgrade. I’ve been working on an integration with Rivian Roamer that pulls live, real-world efficiency data for tires that Roamer users are actually running on their R1s, and it’s something I’ve been really excited to share.
Here’s how it works: Rivian Roamer pulls efficiency data automatically every day, which means the numbers you’re seeing aren’t static or cherry-picked. They reflect how real owners are driving on real roads with real tires. In return, RivianTrackr feeds Roamer a live list of compatible tires so owners can select exactly what they’re running and plug directly into the Tire Guide.
Combined with the existing RivianTrackr Efficiency Score, which already factors in a range of tire variables, you’re now getting both a calculated score and actual real-world data side by side. That’s a pretty meaningful combination when you’re trying to figure out whether a set of all-terrain tires is actually going to hurt your range.

The more Rivian owners that connect to Rivian Roamer and set their tire, the better this data gets for everyone. If you haven’t joined Rivian Roamer yet, now’s a great time to check it out. It’s one of the best community tools available for Rivian owners and your data genuinely helps other owners make smarter decisions, including on something as practical as tire selection.
The R2 tire database is on the way too, so this integration will carry over as more owners start taking delivery.
If you’re shopping for replacement tires or just curious how your current set stacks up, the Tire Guide is the place to start.

This is a huge upgrade! I’ll note that this really makes the Efficiency Score moot (and highlights how imperfect it is as you can see wide disparities between the score and real-life ratings). Of course it’s not fully apples-to-apples since winter tires are run in winter conditions, off-road tires are going to be run more often off-road at lower pressures etc, but very cool nonetheless. Now we just need more data 🙂
This is going to be an amazing and increasingly valuable tool as more data keeps coming in from roamers! Huge hats off to the team for this innovation! Great work.
I would love it if I could see how many miles have been driven to get the average. If it was a metric I could see when I hover over that would be amazing. Knowing if it was 100 miles or 100 million miles that makes a difference. knowing if those miles were on an R1 S or T and how many different vehicles lead to the average would also be nice. I understand all of that gets in the way of a nice clean single number of miles / kWh. I just want to better understand what’s going into making these numbers.
I have that data so I should be able to present it.
thanks. i look forward to seeing you grow the tire tracker. i am in need of some new 21″ tires by the end of summer. All of this is extremely helpful.
That is awesome! Thanks for doing this! Serves the Rivian community well! Can’t wait to see what it will be like for the R2.
Thank you, this is great!
I’m not seeing any way to update tire brand in Roamer? Gemini was no help.
I appreciate the effort here. The sample size for each tire will need to be large otherwise temperature variations across geographic regions could swamp the small differences between tires.
Maybe you could post a quick tutorial on how to update our Roamer account to put custom tire data in the right fields and format so it is easily accessible to you. I think I found the place to do it but a not 100% sure.
