Rivian Targets 70% Mobile Service by End of Year

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe just shared an encouraging update on Instagram about the company’s expanding service network. After facing early challenges meeting demand in certain areas, Rivian is quickly scaling up to improve support for its growing customer base.
The company now operates 77 physical Service Centers across the country and plans to boost that number to 100 by the end of the year. But the biggest push is coming from Rivian’s mobile service. With 550 Mobile Service Vehicles already on the road and plans to nearly double that to 1,000 by year’s end Rivian is betting big on convenience.
RJ says more than half of all Rivian service is already handled by the mobile team, and the goal is to push that number past 70%. For owners, that means more repairs and maintenance handled right at their driveway or workplace without needing to visit a service center. It’s a big move to improve customer experience and shows just how serious Rivian is about backing up its vehicles with solid support.
There is nothing better than mobile service. They come to you, it’s seamless, and the job gets done. It also eliminates a lot of overhead for them.
I agree and if they can do a majority of service at your home or work, its a win for everyone!
Given the incoming launch of R2 and the distribution of the service centers, they are going to need a tad more than 1000 nationwide. Where I live, I have had one appointment that could be serviced by mobile tech and that was the installation of the inflating spare. Everything else, service required me to bring the vehicle in. So something in the equation needs to change.
