Rivian Sets September Groundbreaking Events for $5 Billion Georgia Factory

Rivian is finally getting ready to break ground on its long-planned $5 billion factory east of Atlanta, and they’re making a whole weekend out of it.

As reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the company will host a community event on September 14, then a formal groundbreaking on September 16 with media, stakeholders, and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.

The 2,000-acre site along I-20 has faced plenty of delays, but Rivian says these events show the project is back on track, with vertical construction set to start in 2026.
