Video – Everything New in the Rivian R2 2026.31 Update

Rivian pushed 2026.31 to the R2 on the same day as the R1, and since the R2 already runs Rivian OS 2.0, this one is smaller and more focused than the big R1 redesign. It is mostly new convenience features and bug fixes rather than a whole new interface, but there are a few genuinely nice additions in here. This is the R2 companion to my R1 2026.31 walkthrough, so if you have an R1 check that one out too.

  1. Just got the notification to install. Won’t get to try it out for 2+ weeks as I’m out of the country. Look forward to hearing everyone else’s opinions

  2. It’s definitely better. It’s faster on Gen 1 R1S.

My only complaint is that I wish I could have the quick controls on left and music widget on right. I don’t like that they’re combined and can’t have individual default locations.
