Rivian Offers Up to $5,000 Off 2026 R1T and R1S Builds

Rivian has started knocking money off model-year 2026 R1T and R1S builds in the R1 Shop, with discounts ranging from about $1,000 to $5,000, depending on configuration. Credit to Chris Hilbert, who spotted this first on social media.

The rough pattern is that the more expensive the build, the larger the cut. A few examples currently showing up in inventory:

  • R1S Dual Large in Forest Green with the Darkout Package, Sound + Vision, Black Mountain interior and the air compressor, $2,000 off
  • R1S Glacier White Dual Large with Sound + Vision and Ocean Coast interior, $1,000 off
  • R1S Tri Max in Storm Blue with Darkout, Sound + Vision, Black Mountain interior and the air compressor, $3,000 off
  • R1S Quad Max in Rivian Blue with Darkout, Sound + Vision, Black Mountain interior, air compressor and the reinforced underbody shield, $5,000 off

Similar discounts are also showing on R1T inventory.

The reason is not much of a mystery. The 2027 model year R1 is expected to land any day now, and Rivian needs the 2026 stock to move before that happens. The changes coming with 2027 are subtle, but the one owners keep asking about is second-row captain’s chairs as an option on the R1S. That is a real quality-of-life change for anyone hauling kids or dealing with third-row access, and it has been requested loudly enough for long enough that it is going to pull some people toward waiting.

Worth noting these are inventory vehicles only. Custom orders are not getting this treatment, so what you see in the R1 Shop is what you get, options and colors included. Some of these configurations are actually pretty well specced, which is usually the case when Rivian is trying to clear the deck rather than dump leftovers.
