More Improvements Coming to Rivian Performance Upgrade Later This Year, Confirmed by Wassym

After sharing my video yesterday about the Rivian Performance Upgrade on my R1S Dual Large, Rivian’s Head of Software, Wassym Bensaid, jumped into the conversation on Twitter with some clarification.
There had been rumors floating around that the All-Purpose drive mode doesn’t see any improvements from the Performance Upgrade, but that’s false. Wassym confirmed that All-Purpose mode does in fact get a performance boost, with better acceleration and torque shaping. He also mentioned more improvements are coming to the Performance Upgrade later this year.
So if you’ve been on the fence, this upgrade isn’t just about Sport mode numbers — it’s already impacting everyday driving and will only get better with future updates.
Check out my full video here where I go through the install and first impressions:
Well, I think I narrowed down the decision to purchase the performance upgrade on my gen 1 dual, but I may hold off now to see what exactly the improvements are and that gen 1 is included before pushing the button
What’s Twitter?
On topic, glad to see they’re improving on improvements. Hopefully they include gen 1.
Ohhh. Great. And we trust him that’s “more is coming”. Maybe just deliver text messaging and self drive that’s more than cruise control. Or live weather…. Remember that “coming soon”. Not to mention “Jurassic park mode” or “tank turn”.
