Rivian Outpaces BMW, Mercedes, and More to Claim 5th Spot in U.S. EV Market

CNBC reported that Rivian is now the 5th in Electric Vehicle market share in the United States beating out BMW, Mercedes Benz, Chevrolet, Audi, and many more. Rivian joins General Motors, Ford, Hyundai/Kia, and Tesla. On April 2nd, I shared that Rivian had announced Q1 2024 deliveries. Rivian delivered 13,588 vehicles in Q1 2024 and produced a total of 13,980. Rivian guidance for 2024 is 57,000 vehicles.

Rivian Adventure Network Opening To Compatible EVs In 2024 + New Charger Design

Rivian has showcased its next-gen Rivian Adventure Network charger capable of charging a wide array of EVs. Rivian plans to open its fast-charging network to other EVs later this year. These chargers will deliver rapid charging to 400- and 800-volt packs and feature CCS connectors with support for NACS-equipped vehicles with an approved adapter. Rivian Reaffirms Commitment To Georgia Plant

Rivian has reaffirmed its commitment to building an EV manufacturing plant in the State of Georgia. Upon unveiling the R2 in March, Rivian announced it would provide the vehicle in its Normal, IL factory, saving Rivian over $2.25 billion, helping Rivian turn a profit, and delivering the R2 much faster. The State of Georgia sent Rivian a letter in late March stating that “this change in plans will require Rivian to prompt address issues” such as site conditions and safety.…
