What’s Coming in Rivian Update 2025.26

Rivian’s 2025.26 update is beginning early testing and looks to be a well-rounded release with a mix of performance upgrades, tech improvements, and Gen 2-exclusive enhancements. Both generations see steering refinements and smoother in-car experiences, while Gen 2 drivers get a big step forward in Driver Assistance.

  • Steering Upgrades in Sport and Off-Road Modes
    • Sport mode now delivers sharper cornering and more tire feedback. Off-Road modes reduce steering kickback over rocky terrain and improve control when rotating or drifting on gravel. All-Purpose, Snow, and Conserve modes remain unchanged.
  • Gen 2 Driver Assistance Improvements
    • The system reacts faster to merges, cut-ins, and stopped traffic. Detection works better when sensors are blocked by snow, mud, or direct sunlight, tracks vehicles across more lanes, and avoids unnecessary disengagements on poorly marked roads.
  • Tech and Usability Tweaks
    • Apps on the center display run smoother, Navigation is more responsive to swipes, and Alexa now works with YouTube. Apple Music login issues are fixed, Gear Guard videos display properly, and trip efficiency readings are now accurate. Climate control in humid conditions is improved, battery conditioning is more available at low charge, and there’s now an option in Settings to restart the vehicle. Even the active grille shutters are quieter when the vehicle wakes from sleep.

2025.26 is still in early testing, but if things go smoothly, a wider rollout should follow in the coming weeks.
