What’s Coming in Rivian Update 2025.22

Rivian’s 2025.22 update is currently in early testing with employees and is shaping up to be a solid quality-of-life release. While it doesn’t introduce major new features, it brings a bunch of meaningful improvements across both Gen 1 and Gen 2 vehicles.

  • Driver Assistance with Hitch Accessories
    • You’ll now be able to keep Driver Assistance features active when you have an electrical accessory (like a bike rack with lights) plugged into the tow hitch. Just head to Drive Modes > Trailers and select “Accessory.” This doesn’t apply to full trailers, so make sure to pick the right setting.
  • Smoother Ride in All Drive Modes
    • Rivian has continued tuning suspension across the board. You’ll feel better roll support and agility, improved body control in All-Purpose mode, and a more comfortable ride even in Sport mode’s low height. Rock Crawl, Rally, and Drift get updates too.
  • Gen 2-Specific Enhancements
    • Smarter Go Chime: It now only chimes if the car ahead moves and you’re not paying attention.
    • Driver Attention Tweaks: When stopped in ACC or Highway Assist, the vehicle will stay engaged longer if you’re clearly looking at the road.
    • Better climate cooldown: Cabin comfort in hot weather gets a noticeable bump.
  • Fixes and Small Wins
    • Proximity unlock now works faster with iPhone 14
    • Infotainment and charging stability continue to improve
    • Energy Monitor bugs have been cleaned up
    • High Beam Assist is now more clearly labeled as “Adaptive” and no longer offers the confusing “Standard” option

2025.22 is still in internal testing, but if all goes well, we expect a wider rollout in the coming weeks.

  1. How about we get a working version of Spotify. Never seen a more finicky thing in my life.

  2. I would like to be able to use the usb to play my flac recordings. Had in the ix50 I traded in for the R1T tri.

  3. The hot weather cool down improvement sounds promising (anemic HVAC is the wife’s only complaint), but climate control also needs an option to remember last settings. Having to re-enable everything for my kids in the back is an unwanted routine.

  4. how about putting time and temperature on the center display? That would be a very no-frills and useful update that would mean a lot to people. How about a trip computer on the driver display with drive time, miles, and elapsed time? Not rocket surgery.

  5. My Spotify is a joke. Constantly freezes for eternity every time I get in my truck in the am. Now screens are freezing, 3d satellite view works when it wants, and how about putting the LH, RH turn signal image on the large screen so we can actually see it? Oh…and your service grease monkeys are terrible. Zero respect and pride in their work. Training is minimal at best, straight from the service manager. Love my truck, hate the support.

  6. How about fixing real driving issues:
Turn signals don’t go off after turning. This seems worse than before last update.
When coming up.on a slower vehicle, the driver assist should accelerate once your signal is activated. Try driving a Subaru.
Tail gate now doesn’t open more often than note.
Oh….the seat memory doesn’t work when parked at home. It used to !?!?

  7. Can we please have driver assistance while towing too? I’m about ready to go with comma.ia for that ability alone. I didn’t realize how important adaptive cruise control was until I didn’t have it anymore.

  8. You mean instead of getting meaningful updates like audio text messages or maps that are “accurate” we’re going to be able to charge at any one of the seven IONNA “Rechargeries”? HOT DAMN, thanks Rivian for really giving us some good updates! Well that and these lame “quality of life” updates!

  9. Turn proximity locking on and off as well as suspend it for a period of time from the phone app
