What’s Coming in Rivian Update 2025.22

Rivian’s 2025.22 update is currently in early testing with employees and is shaping up to be a solid quality-of-life release. While it doesn’t introduce major new features, it brings a bunch of meaningful improvements across both Gen 1 and Gen 2 vehicles.
- Driver Assistance with Hitch Accessories
- You’ll now be able to keep Driver Assistance features active when you have an electrical accessory (like a bike rack with lights) plugged into the tow hitch. Just head to Drive Modes > Trailers and select “Accessory.” This doesn’t apply to full trailers, so make sure to pick the right setting.
- Smoother Ride in All Drive Modes
- Rivian has continued tuning suspension across the board. You’ll feel better roll support and agility, improved body control in All-Purpose mode, and a more comfortable ride even in Sport mode’s low height. Rock Crawl, Rally, and Drift get updates too.
- Gen 2-Specific Enhancements
- Smarter Go Chime: It now only chimes if the car ahead moves and you’re not paying attention.
- Driver Attention Tweaks: When stopped in ACC or Highway Assist, the vehicle will stay engaged longer if you’re clearly looking at the road.
- Better climate cooldown: Cabin comfort in hot weather gets a noticeable bump.
- Fixes and Small Wins
- Proximity unlock now works faster with iPhone 14
- Infotainment and charging stability continue to improve
- Energy Monitor bugs have been cleaned up
- High Beam Assist is now more clearly labeled as “Adaptive” and no longer offers the confusing “Standard” option
2025.22 is still in internal testing, but if all goes well, we expect a wider rollout in the coming weeks.
