What’s Coming in Rivian Update 2025.14

The 2025.14 update is still in internal testing but should begin rolling out in the coming weeks. It’s a refinement-heavy release with a few new features and some long-requested fixes—especially for Gen 1 owners catching up on functionality already standard on Gen 2. Here’s what’s expected:

For Gen 1

  • Driver Assistance Data Updates
    • Your vehicle now gets real-time updates for things like road construction and speed limit changes. This helps Highway Assist work more reliably and safely. Updates install automatically in the background when connected to Wi-Fi.
      • Note: Gen 2 already has this feature.

For Gen 1 & Gen 2

  • Spotify DJ
    • Spotify now includes an AI-powered DJ that plays curated music and gives voice commentary about the artists and tracks. Go to Media > Spotify > DJ to try it out.
  • Media & Profile Improvements
    • Your driver profile now remembers navigation and display settings
    • Recent searches in Apple Music and Spotify now persist across profiles and media sources
  • Bug Fixes & Small Enhancements
    • Fixed Apple Music login issues
    • Alexa volume control bug resolved
    • Improved Wi-Fi to cellular handoff when leaving home
    • Suspension now raises more quickly after sleep
    • Fixed a misaligned vehicle image in Quick Controls
    • Smoother infotainment app switching and faster climate control load times

No big Gen 2 exclusives this round—just a nice round of refinements and a few long-requested fixes.

    • Yes. I don’t care about anything other than text messaging. Everyone communicates this way, constantly, and I have to pull over to the side of the road to read my messages. It’s 2025. Figure it out Rivian.

  1. Thank you for all the great info, but I think the Driver Assistance Data updates are already enabled on 2025.10.1. I just received one on a 2024 gen1 2 days ago. There was a notification under driver + for a pending update, and when I connected to WiFi at home it downloaded and installed

  2. When will I be able to rename my saved addresses so I can search by name? Instead, I have to remember what street people live on so I can type that in… it’d be nice just to have an address book in the nav system.

  3. Any news on when launch control will be available for Gen 1 Quad?? Waiting since las summer 🤣

  4. I know i’m dreaming, but i’m waiting for third party app integration. I want Waze & Podcast app support. Using my phones Bluetooth connection is a crutch.

    • Point to be noted,
      1. A/C fan control speed to separated for driver and passenger side and temperature level too.
      2. Rivian should come out with new concept software update should call it “RJ – DJ Light Show” should be for 1 to 2 minutes. Presentation with light/music should feel like theater sound” — just like Tesla has it.
      3. Satellite map should be more easier, it does get freeze has scroll across.
      4. Rivain should have more better idea showing more charging stations from different providers with better DC fast charger station access. To make trips more advantageous and fun, rather than thinking is next charger station will work or not. Need more stations service on Rivian dash board.
      5. Rivian should have YouTube Music app on music section. No video play, just listen to music option.

  5. I really wish they fix side view display at turn signal… the curr one is really useless. They can show it on main big screen on the left side similar to music app shown on the right. Do u guys agree? Thanks

    • YES! This was one of the first questions after our test drive. We just sold both of our Teslas and moved to Rivian, and while I firmly believe Rivian does not and should not recreate the Tesla experience – this one just makes a ton of sense!

  6. So excited for faster climate controls! Next is response time for app switching. My impression is that Rivian has been laser focused on reducing Vampire drain and the responsiveness has suffered as a result. I really don’t care about vampire drain at all. I would love to see some settings that give people the option to save energy when not in use. We need an energy saver mode and away mode for the standby power of the infotainment and gear guard systems! When off, let things run in the background, let it be snappy! Of course I’m speculating.
