Simplified Autonomy Data Updates in Rivian 2024.27

In Rivian software update 2024.27, Rivian introduced a new way for Generation 2 owners to download new autonomy and mapping data without requiring the vehicle to get a full new software update. Reddit user u/boilerball01 shared a first look at this in action on his Gen 2 Rivian.

Titled “Rivian Autonomy Platform data”, you can find this new section added to the existing Settings > Updates screen where you normally install new software updates. To automatically receive updates, connect your vehicle to Wi-Fi. During an automatic update, you can continue to use autonomy features.
