RJ Confirms Rivian R2 Will Launch With Dual Motor Model, Full Lineup Event Coming Early 2026

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe just dropped some exciting news during the Q3 2025 earnings call. He confirmed that the first version of the upcoming Rivian R2 will launch as a “well-appointed” Dual Motor model, one that he says will make people happy right out of the gate. Other variants, including higher-performance options, will follow later in 2026.

RJ also revealed that Rivian plans to host a dedicated event in early 2026 to showcase the full R2 lineup, including all trims, features, and configurations. This means we’ll finally get to see the broader R2 family in its final production form before deliveries begin later that year.
