Rivian has issued a new safety recall for certain 2025/2026 R1S and R1T vehicles because one or both front turn signal lamps may fail to illuminate and flash. It is listed as NHTSA campaign 26V-508 and Rivian recall FSAM-1833, issued August 5, with the remedy already marked available as of August 11.
This one is an expansion of 25V-387, the front turn signal recall Rivian filed back in June 2025. An additional 3,829 model year 2025 and 2026 R1T and R1S vehicles built between June 12, 2024 and May 26, 2026 may have received the same incorrectly manufactured lamps, which the supplier did not properly quarantine. Rivian believes fewer than 1 percent of those vehicles are actually affected.
The lamps leave the vehicles out of compliance with FMVSS 108. Rivian says a dead front signal reduces awareness of your intent to turn for anyone ahead of the vehicle, and that it is not aware of any accidents or injuries tied to the condition. The fix is an inspection and replacement if needed, free, estimated at under an hour through Rivian Service. This one is mobile service compatible, so it should not require a service center visit for most owners.
