If you’ve been waiting to figure out which R2 makes sense for you, Rivian just gave you everything you need to decide.
All three R2s share the same 87.9 kWh pack (the $45k Standard trim battery pack details are still to be determined), dual displays, heated steering wheel, and Autonomy+ hardware. The bones are the same no matter which you pick.
The Standard Long Range starts at single-motor RWD with 350 hp and hits 60 in 5.9 seconds. Totally fine for most people, but you’re giving up ventilated seats, rear drop glass, adventure lighting, and All-Terrain mode. It also arrives last, sometime in early 2027.
Premium adds AWD, bumps to 450 hp, and brings back most of the features the Standard skips. It’s probably the sweet spot for most buyers.
Performance is the full package, 656 hp, 3.6-second 0-60, semi-active suspension, and all eight drive modes including Rally and Launch. Early reservation holders also get the Launch Package, which bundles in lifetime Autonomy+, tow package, and an exclusive Launch Green color.

Love RivianTrackr – thanks for all the info! I assume, but can you confirm, that the R2’s panoramic rood is standard glass and not Electrochromic like the R1?
Thank you 😊
R2 has just a standard glass roof that’s heavily tinted.
Thanks!
Will there be an additional cost for the Coastal Cloud Signature interior over the Black Crater Signature on the Premium model?
Most likely since Rivian charges about $4,500 for the white interior on R1.
Wow!! What justifies that additional cost? Is it a better material?
