Rivian R2 Configurator Goes Live Today With Pricing, Colors, and Launch Package Details

The Rivian R2 configurator went live today, and if you have been waiting to actually price one out instead of just speculating, this is the moment. Performance kicks things off at $57,990 with a spring 2026 delivery window, and Rivian is loading it up with a Launch Package that softens the price tag a bit if you order early.

That Launch Package bundles in lifetime Autonomy+ (a $2,500 value), the Tow Package ($950), the Launch key fob ($250), and access to Launch Green paint, which itself runs $2,000 on top. So you are looking at around $3,700 in extras thrown in for as long as the limited time window holds, plus the option to buy a color other R2 buyers will not be able to get.

Colors are where things get a little interesting. Esker Silver is the no-cost option. Glacier White adds $1,000, Half Moon Grey lands at $1,500, and Midnight, Catalina Cove, and Launch Green each sit at $2,000. Forest Green comes in at $1,500 but is not arriving until late 2026, and Borealis at $2,000 gets pushed all the way to 2027. If you have a specific color in mind, you are partly picking a delivery window too.

Wheels follow a similar setup. The 21″ Liquid Tungsten All-Season package is included and gets you a 330 mile range estimate, which is genuinely strong for this segment. If you want the 20″ Black Sand All-Terrain package, that is a $1,000 jump and drops you to 307 miles. Twenty-three miles for the more capable look is not a bad trade for the people who actually plan to take an R2 off pavement.

Inside, Black Crater Signature is the included interior. Coastal Cloud Signature is a $1,000 option but does not show up until late 2026, so early Performance buyers are not getting that choice. Rivian is also offering a compact spare tire add-on for $755 if you want it.

The Premium and Standard trims are coming later, with Premium landing in late 2026 and Standard pushing to 2027. Both will let you add Autonomy+ for $2,500 and the Tow Package for $950, but neither gets the Launch perks Performance buyers are getting right now. That is the real case for ordering Performance if you can stretch to it, because the math on lifetime Autonomy+ alone is hard to argue with.

Mostly it just feels good to have real numbers instead of speculation. The spring 2026 window suddenly feels less like a slide in a presentation and more like a date that is actually getting close. Worth poking around the configurator for a few minutes at minimum.

  1. AS I HAVE SAID ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS (MORE THAN 15) I AM VERY INTERESTED IN A R2 (NOT AN R1 I AM INTERESTED IN AN R2) i WILL NOT BUY ONE TIL I PHYSICALLY SEE FEEL TOUCH ONE. WHEN YOU CAN ARRANGE FOR ME TO SEE ONE LET ME KNOW.

  2. I’m no expert, but I read that it’s important to wait for Version 3 Autonomy software because earlier versions on these early releases will not be upgradable, i.e. Version 2 or 1 will never have Lidar, etc.
    Any comments are appreciated.

    • 100% anyone who says otherwise is lying. They will use it for more than ground truth validation – it makes zero sense to build it into and part as the system to not leverage it for the system. You should wait to get the most bang for buck and future proof (for some years at least)

  3. Looking forward to seeing R2 in person and what the colors actually look like. Still would like a couple colors away from the dark palet though. Prefer the lighter interior also. With everything that’s been posted so far on R2, looks like Rivian nailed it.

  4. 307 m mileage is outdated. BMWX1, Benz GLC, Volvo EX60 coming with way better battery. Tesla is also getting bigger battery in few months. Do not buy these now and fall into the trap. Wait for bigger battery
