Rivian R2 Colors, Badging, and Wheels Broken Down by Trim Level

Rivian has now confirmed the full color lineup for the R2, and depending on which trim you’re ordering, your options vary more than you might expect.

The biggest thing to know right out of the gate: Esker Silver is the default color across all four trims and it’s free. So if you’re not paying extra for color, that’s what you’re getting.

From there, it gets interesting. Performance buyers have the most to choose from, with eight exterior options total. That includes two exclusives: Borealis (yeah, that one), which doesn’t carry over to any other trim, and Launch Green, which is locked entirely to the Performance Launch Package and even comes with a matching green anodized key fob.

Notes
  • Coastal Cloud Signature interior will be available on the Performance trim later in 2026 (not at launch).

Premium gets six options, while Standard Long Range and Standard each get five. Forest Green, Glacier White, and Midnight return and are available across every trim, and Half Moon Grey (the El Cap Granite replacement) is a new addition that's also open to all four. Catalina Cove is the other new color worth flagging and if you've seen it, you'll know it's the same color that was featured on the R3X we saw 2 years ago. It's completely exclusive to the R2, meaning you can't get it on an R1, and it's only available on Performance and Premium.

On the interior side, things are more straightforward. Performance and Premium get the Signature interior options in Coastal Cloud (not available for Launch Edition) or Black Crater, while Standard Long Range and Standard get Black Crater in its non-Signature form.

Wheel options follow a similar trim-based structure. Performance rolls on 21" Liquid Tungsten All-Season wheels as standard, with a 20" Black Sand All-Terrain set available as an option for buyers who want a more rugged setup. Premium gets 20" Bicolor Carbon All-Season wheels out of the box, with the option to upgrade to the 21" Liquid Tungsten All-Seasons from Performance. Standard Long Range and Standard both start on 19" Machined Graphite All-Season wheels, with the 20" Bicolor Carbons from Premium available as an upgrade. It's a clean tiered approach, each trim's optional wheel is the standard wheel from the trim above it.

One last detail: Performance gets yellow exterior badging, while every other trim gets silver. Up until now, yellow badging has only appeared on the Gen 1 R1 and the Gen 2 Tri-Motor R1, so seeing it carry over to the R2 Performance is a deliberate signal about where it sits in the lineup. Small touch, but Rivian is clearly using it as a performance marker across the family.

  1. It all looks great but they’ll have to come up with a tri-motor variant to pry me away from my Quad R1T…

  2. Yellow first was Quad, now my Tri is yellow, and now Dual Performance is yellow? Even trim colors are losing value!

  3. FWIW, the Rivian Assistant tells me that Coastal Cloud will be available on Launch Edition as well as other performance editions.

  4. Looks like the Launch Edition only gives you the ability to pay to upgrade to have the Launch Green paint and it’s not include, which seems like a stupid AF cash grab.
