Rivian Launches New R1S Cargo Divider for $150 on the Gear Shop

Rivian added a new accessory to the Gear Shop, the R1S Cargo Divider, priced at $150. The divider uses an adjustable, telescoping frame that clicks into the R1S cargo rails and tie downs, letting you size the cargo area around whatever you are hauling.
When you are not using it, the whole thing stores neatly under the rear load floor, so it does not eat up cargo space or leave the back looking cluttered. That kind of clean, factory fit is always a win.
One important thing to know before hitting buy, not every R1S is compatible. Rivian does not really highlight this on the product page, but the cargo divider requires the cargo rails and adjustable cargo tie downs. Some R1S variants did not come with those from the factory, so it is worth double checking your setup before ordering to avoid any surprises.

Were the variants that don’t have the cargo rail a temporary supply chain issue or was that a permanent change? I’m assuming it was temporary, since this is a new product.
I also find it odd it’s added now. It’s the new 2026s that don’t have the rails. Maybe the R2s will? If not, then definitely strange they started selling it only after stopping production of the rails.
Also, it’s a Fiat product, so they could have been selling this all along.

what is the clearance under neath – i have my cargo floor leveled up with so no slope down to the tailgate. The rail at the furthest front is about 1.5” top of rail to top of rear cargo floor. At the tail gain this distance is about 2.5”. Would the rail clear the cargo floor at this point ?
