Rivian Says Early Access Interest Will Decide Where Point to Point Expands Next

Rivian shared a couple of new details on its Autonomy Early Access Program today, confirming the sign-up tile is reaching eligible owners on a rolling basis that started October 15 and that interest from owners outside California and Florida will help decide which states get Point to Point next.

If you checked your Rivian.com account yesterday and didn’t see the Autonomy Early Access tile, that’s expected. Rivian is rolling it out gradually, so it may take some time to show up even if you have a Gen 2 R1 or R2 with an active Autonomy+ subscription. The tile also only appears on the primary owner’s account, so a secondary driver logging in won’t see it.

California and Florida are still the only launch states, but Rivian wants owners everywhere to express interest through the tile because those sign-ups help it pick where to expand. Canadian owners remain ineligible for now.

That makes signing up worth it even if you aren’t in one of the first two states. I covered the full program details yesterday, including the weekly testing, monthly surveys and NDA, but expressing interest doesn’t lock you into any of that. You only commit once you’re selected and sign the Participation Agreement, and you can still decline at that point.

If you want Point to Point before the broad 2027 rollout, putting your interest in now is the easiest way to get your state on Rivian’s radar. My R1S is in Florida, so I’ll be watching for the tile on my account and I’ll share more with you all as soon as it shows up.

  1. if they’re inviting specific people to express their interest, then they’re still deciding where it will launch, no?

  2. Yeah this is very confusing. What is the difference between expressing interest and signing up?

It does not appear that just anyone can “express interest “
