Rivian Tackles Chirping Noise in 2022-2024 R1T and R1S Models

If you’re driving a 2022-2024 Rivian R1T or R1S and have noticed a subtle chirping or squeaking sound coming from the front of your vehicle, you’re not alone. Rivian is aware of the issue and is taking proactive steps to address it through a new Technical Service Bulletin.

The issue occurs when driving on uneven surfaces at speeds below 20 mph (32 km/h). While the sound can be a little annoying, the good news is that it doesn’t impact the vehicle’s overall performance or safety in any way. It’s simply a matter of a chirp from the front suspension due to the current hydraulic components.

Rivian has assured customers that upon a complaint about the noise, the company will replace the front hydraulic jounce lines with upgraded components to resolve the issue. This fix is aimed at giving Rivian owners a quieter and more enjoyable driving experience, particularly in low-speed, uneven terrain situations.

So, if you’ve been hearing that high-pitched chirp, you can schedule an appointment via the Rivian mobile app and Rivian will take care of it with an upgraded fix.
