Review – Rivian Brings Google Maps In 2025.22 Update

Rivian’s 2025.22 software update is here, and the big news is that Google Maps is finally integrated! In this video, I walk through everything new in this update, including a hands-on demo of Google Maps in action, updates to driver assistance with a trailer hitch accessory, improved vehicle dynamics for Gen 2 R1T and R1S, and a few smaller quality-of-life changes.

As a reminder, Rivian software updates are rolled out in batches. Connect+ subscribers will get priority.

  1. Will this somehow sync or connect to a google account (not my primary email) so when we search on our computer they are also linked to Rivian Nav? This works in Polestar and other Android Auto systems I believe. Nice to lookup at home and then tap past search addresses on RIV

  2. Wassym hinted that the collaboration with Google is continuing. Could it be possible that Google Assistant may replace Alexa in future updates?

  3. Didn’t they have some driving mode refinements in Gen 1 as well in the earlier release notes?
