Marques Brownlee Briefly Leaks New 2026 R1T Quad Before Pulling It Down
Earlier today, Marques Brownlee (aka MKBHD) accidentally gave us an early look at the upcoming 2026 Rivian R1T Quad Motor Gen 2, before quickly pulling the post. The short video clip, which was shared on his social platforms and then deleted not long after, revealed several key design updates coming with the refreshed Quad.
In the video, Marques showcased the new NACS charging port that Rivian is adding to all 2026 model year vehicles. He also revealed an exclusive new 22” Ultra High Performance wheel setup, a returning Launch Green paint option just for the Quad, and fresh teal-colored badging and brake calipers. These visual tweaks, along with what we already expect from the updated Quad drivetrain, point toward Rivian positioning this trim as the performance halo of the R1 lineup.
Marques also hinted at a full video review coming soon, but the clip was likely pulled because the official media embargo for Quad hasn’t lifted yet. While it’s unclear exactly when the green light will come, based on past patterns, early July feels like a safe bet.
That said, the internet never forgets. I was able to snag a download of the video before it disappeared, and yes, I also grabbed some screenshots to go with it.
Meanwhile, Jon Rettinger (another tech-focused content creator) posted some behind-the-scenes shots of himself inside a Storm Blue R1T Quad. So it’s safe to say that Rivian is seeding these trucks out to the media ahead of the full launch.
We’re officially in the quiet-before-the-storm phase. Expect more leaks, previews, and full reviews from creators soon as we get closer to the public reveal of Rivian’s most powerful R1 yet. Stay tuned.
