Forest Edge Interior Returns for Rivian R1, Limited Time
Forest Edge is back for R1, and if you’ve spent any time in the forums you know how much a certain group of owners has wanted this.
The catch is it’s not a standalone interior. It’s R1 Dual Max only and comes as a $9,000 package. You get Forest Edge, 22″ Sport Dark wheels (you can also opt for 20″ Dark All-Terrain wheels), the Darkout Package, and Sound + Vision all bundled together. You can only pair it with Glacier White, Forest Green, or Half Moon Grey on the outside.
This hasn’t been orderable since around 2022. It sat in the discontinued pile long enough that most people figured it was gone for good, so seeing it come back at all, even bundled and limited, is a surprise.
Rivian hasn’t been shy about pulling colors and configs lately. If you actually want this, I wouldn’t sit on it. The thing I keep wondering is whether they ever bring it back as a true standalone option, because $9k is going to price out a lot of people who just wanted the interior.
Ridiculous you can’t order it on the Tri or Quad.
They opted to do it only for the Adventure interior trim and the Tri/Quad has the Ascend. Also bigger margins on Dual.
I kick myself when I see this because I never even heard of, let alone saw, this interior until the day I picked up my FG R1S. It looked so good in person. Oh well, Ocean Coast still looks pretty nice as well.
The $9000 package also includes the Max Pack, which is normally a $7000 add on
Everyone knows Green is the better option for rock crawling. I just bought a used R1S and the green interior is so great. I’m so glad I went for it. It’s more subtle in real life yet doesn’t look like any other car interior. And the wood pieces just match beautifully. I’m glad they are bringing it back as black and white both feel generic. The Gen2 Ascen in Blue/Gray with Birch is the other combination that to me look stunning
I was just on the configurator for the R1T and it also seems like they have gotten rid of the standard all-terrain 20″ wheel option across the board and now only offer the all-black option or the dune wheel for the quad variants.
I have Forest Edge on my ’23 R1T. It was, and to this day, remains one of my favorite things about the vehicle. For anyone considering it or on the fence, I would absolutely recommend this color. I will personally never buy another vehicle with “boring black or gray” interior again.
Hoping for tan on R2/R3, guess we’ll see. 🤞
