Apple Watch Support Coming Soon to Rivian Vehicles, Confirmed by Wassym

Rivian is actively working on Apple Watch integration, according to Chief Software Officer Wassym Bensaid, who responded to a comment on X and followed up with RivianTrackr. This feature will let users lock, unlock, and send various commands to their vehicle directly from their Apple Watch—no phone required.

This functionality was first teased during the Gen 2 vehicle announcement, and it’s great to see a concrete update on it. Wassym confirmed it will be available on both Gen 1 and Gen 2 vehicles, though Gen 2 will offer more capabilities thanks to its built-in Ultra Wideband (UWB) support—something Gen 1 models lack.

No exact release date has been shared, but Wassym says it’s coming soon.
