Lane Change on Command is now available on more roads, not just freeways. While Universal Hands-Free is engaged, activate the turn signal and let your vehicle handle the rest.
Enhanced Rivian Assistant
Search for Charging Stations
- We made it more convenient to look up charging stations based on the name of a place you're searching near, and we improved the search function when you look for chargers along a route. For example, "What charging options are near Yellowstone?" or "Can you show me chargers near Denver?"
Personalization with Memory
- Use the Memory feature of Rivian Assistant to personalize responses based on preferences and past context from prior conversations with you. Memory is off by default. To turn it on, go to Settings > Apps > Rivian Assistant on the center display, or use the Rivian mobile app and go to Account > Rivian Intelligence.
NOTE
Stored details are saved per driver profile. To delete stored details, open the Rivian mobile app and go to Account > Rivian Intelligence.
Draft Service Request
- Rivian Assistant can now draft service requests for you. Describe the issue and Rivian Assistant begins a draft. You can then review, edit, and submit the request in the Rivian Mobile app.

Really hoping we see adjustments to Rivian Assistant in the next one. Have almost turned it off with text messages turning music volume down for far too long, with no ability to even turn off text notifications alert sounds.
It’s been over 2 years since my truck has connected to our home Wi-Fi and we live in a zero cell service rural area. If this update solves for that issue it would be the biggest thing since the annual Halloween update.
I’ve had a bunch of issues with my Ubiquiti setup so I’m hopeful this fixes it.
The update failed. I received the upgrade notification. I tried upgrade now. It changed to 0% and said preparing. After awhile it went back to the upgrade notification. I tried a few more times. It eventually said “UPDATE FAILED.” Now it went back to “up to date” at the last update. Now I can’t try again.
If it was me, I would test if the issue is with your vehicle or your home WiFi network. Maybe try connecting to a mobile hotspot or WiFi at a public location, like a restaurant or coffee shop. This would help narrow down the source of the issue.
Rivian doesn’t connect to Wifi network using DFS channel. Also, it has some issues with dual-band network. So 1. Setup a separate 2.4Ghz network for the car, 2. Use non-DFS channels such as 36/40/44 for 5Ghz.
Just to confirm, Gen 1 gets the Enhanced Rivian Assistant changes?
Yes!
The notes above says Gen 2 only, as well as while using UHF, which isnt even available on Gen 1? As a gen 1 owner I’m curious how this could work on gen 1!
Hmmm … fixing a plethora of rare issues, lots of Apple Music love and improvements to map software are important and welcome, but after a two month wait and a July push into August, I was sure hoping for something a little more substantial for my 2026 R1S. We are cautioned that the release notes are not necessarily final (fingers crossed) but …
Text messaging sure needs some major help and as an Android guy, the Apple Watch doesn’t help me. Any word on an Android watch app coming sooner rather than later?
Would love some Wear OS (or specifically Pixel Watch) support
Yes .. WearOS for my Galaxy 5 Pro watch would be terrific. I’m already having to do battle getting to the car before my wife and her Iphone and Apple Watch being recognized first … regardless how close I am. Reading the release notes again, that problem might be solved with this release.
I really hope the attention to Apple Music results in the app getting some improvements. Considering it’s our best audio app available.
The artwork and lack of sync between the mobile App and Rivian is a major issue. Why I can’t Favorite a song on the app and have it show as a favorite on the Rivian is mind boggling.
What’s wild to me is that they chose to assign the Rivian assistant buttons as the same as the Apple Music buttons. Very annoying to use at the same time while playing music. Why don’t they use the right side of wheel that’s not in use lol.
Another meh update.
Where is pandora?
My biggest problem with Apple Music is the auto quality feature. I absolutely LOVE Dolby Atmos in the truck, but half the time it picks too high quality and buffers to the point I might as well turn off the music. Hoping this issue is solved with the update… Also would love the ability to download my playlists to the same hard drive as Drive Cam, so I can have the highest quality versions available for listening regardless of my signal strength
Got a new Rivian app update and it references features needing 2026.31 to function…I wonder if this 2026.23 update will be held until 2026.31 comes out?
FYI, your software page isnt showing this software on it, only showing on the news article post.
Jose, has Rivian said anything about long standing climate and profile issues?
Nothing yet but they are aware of some issues.
Was hoping that they would have added a navigation log that small businesses, or anyone, could use to track business trips in and around town. It would be great if at the end of the year one could download a log that could be used for taxes. Recommended this when I picked up my R1T Gen 2 several months ago.
It would be great if others would help push this with Rivian.
