2024.51.02 Hotfix

  • Improved low-voltage battery efficiency.
  • In the Rivian mobile app 2.19, added notifications in the app that warn you pre-emptively when cold weather may impact range, and when it starts to impact range.
  • Fixed a rare issue that slowed down the media screens and caused stuttering when you scrolled or dragged items on the center display.
  • Fixed a rare issue which prevented software updates from fully downloading even in areas with good connectivity.

Vehicle Alarm Improvement

After the vehicle alarm is triggered, the in-vehicle displays are unavailable. If the vehicle detects your presence, the center display now describes how to disable the alarm and wake the displays.

Additional Improvements

  • Improved the drivability and control of the vehicle in R (Reverse).
  • Vehicle Sleep Improvements
    • Improved the “Ready” state efficiency when there is no driver present.
    • If a charger is not properly or only partially plugged in, the vehicle now sleeps after 60 seconds.
    • Updated vehicle behavior to allow it to sleep even if the driver seat belt is buckled. To keep the vehicle awake for a long period of time, use one of the options below. See the Owner’s Guide for more information.
      • Go to Camping > Manage energy and choose Stay on.
      • Go to Camping > Outlets and set the Timer.
      • Go to Settings > Vehicle > Service and turn on Show and Tell.
  • On Dual-Motor vehicles, fixed a rare issue that caused the vehicle to get stuck in Conserve mode on vehicles that don’t have Conserve mode.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Day/Night lock sound setting from working correctly until the vehicle GPS position was restored during wake.
  • Navigation favorites–Work, saved locations, and recent destinations–are now saved to your individual driver profile. You can also access these locations when planning trips in the Rivian mobile app version 2.18 or later.
  • Fixed a rare issue on a small number of vehicles that blocked all remote (cloud) commands from the Rivian mobile app. This fix required affected drivers to delete all paired phone keys and re-pair them to restore functionality.
  • Apple Music Improvements
    • Fixed an issue that caused perceived volume to fluctuate between tracks, particularly when moving between Dolby Atmos and stereo.
    • Fixed a rare playback issue that prevented songs from playing.
    • Fixed an issue that prevented the See All button from working for some Live Radio entries.
    • Added day and night modes for settings and sign-in pages on the center display.
  • Enhanced overall infotainment system performance and stability, and addressed issues that caused unexpected resets.

  1. The gen 1 updates are disappointing. I hope Rivian doesn’t start neglecting those of us who were first to take a chance on this company.

    • I agree Darren! I was going to comment the same thing. Driver+ is pretty neglected, and I have to imagine there’s more than can be done, even with the tech that exists in the car today. Feels like forced obsolescence unfortunately of Drive+ and not wanting to invest the energy in it. I hope to be proven wrong, but slightly disappointing that the energy seems to be going to Gen 2 for the good stuff.

  2. I own a 2025 Gen2 R1s. The app shows that my current system version is 2024.51.31. For some reason Rivian is pushing the same version for install. The install fails at the 7% mark. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

    I asked that they push the correct update or the 2025.6 update. However, the claim they can’t push an update. Instead they scheduled a mobile appointment which will take place in about three weeks.
