Happy Holidays!

To celebrate the winter season, we’ve added a few merry gifts for you to enjoy:

  • Change the lock sound on your vehicle to a cheery jingle bell. Go to Settings > Vehicle > Access on the center display and select Jingle.
  • Enjoy the twinkling green light on the front and rear light bars when you lock your vehicle.
  • Admire a jolly snowman and festive pine trees on the center display when your vehicle is in Snow mode.

Google Cast and YouTube Now Available

You can now use Google Cast and YouTube in your vehicle while parked! Choose the new Video app from the bottom of the center display. Then choose the Google Cast or YouTube icon, and follow the on-screen instructions to get started. Everyone can preview Google Cast and YouTube before they become part of the Connect+ package at a later date.

NOTE

You can cast from most mobile apps that have Google Cast. We don’t support Netflix.

During the preview period, vehicles without a Connect+ subscription will have their vehicle hotspot activated to utilize Google Cast. However, to access other media apps without a Connect+ subscription, you must turn off the vehicle’s hotspot.

Driver Assistance Improvements

We updated the 360° visualizations that appear on the driver display to improve your in-vehicle experience. Chevron icons in your lane are now used to show when the vehicle is slowing down for curves while Adaptive Cruise Control or Highway Assist is active.

Seat Climate Icon Enhancement

The vehicle now displays the Seat Climate icon with the Heat or Ventilate icon, depending on the outside temperature. Choose Seat Climate from the bottom of the center display to turn it on for the driver or front passenger seat.

Additional Improvements

  • Improved ride height adjustments on uneven surfaces.
  • Improved acceleration response in All-Purpose drive mode.
  • Fixed an issue that required a vehicle reset for Soft Sand mode to appear as a drive mode option.
  • When your vehicle wakes from sleep in Rally or Drift mode, a new notification now appears on the center display to ask if you want to stay in the current drive mode or switch to All-Terrain mode.
  • Fixed a rare issue where AC charging stops before reaching the target.
  • Infotainment stability improvements:
    • Fixed an issue that caused the live camera view to pause if you touched the center display with three or more fingers.
    • Fixed a very rare issue that caused the infotainment system to restart while driving.
    • Fixed a rare issue that resulted in audio not playing in all speakers until resetting the infotainment system.
    • Fixed a rare issue that caused 3-D visualizations to be stuck in low frame rate while driving.
  • Fixed an issue in the Audible app that prevented the app from skipping to the correct audiobook position after you listen on different devices.
  • Fixed a very rare issue that caused the percentage charged on the center display to not appear when charging.
  • The status of your vehicle’s hazard lights is now retained when you restart the vehicle.
  • Turn signals take priority over hazard lights in your vehicle. If both are activated, the turn signals override the hazards, which will reactivate once the turn is complete or the signal is canceled.
  • Fixed a rare issue that caused the vehicle’s position in the Navigation app to erroneously shift or jump when the vehicle is coming to a stop.
  • Fixed a rare issue that caused Live Cam sessions to not start reliably.
  • When you activate Gear Guard, it now uses the high voltage battery more often to improve 12 V battery health, which reduces range while parked. When Gear Guard is off, or off at home, it does not have an impact on range.

NOTE

Changed the name of Drive Cam to Road Cam across all platforms.

New Key Fob for Gen 2 Vehicles

The Gear Shop now offers a new key fob as a separate physical key for your vehicle. To start the pairing process on your smartphone, open the Rivian mobile app version 2.16 or later. Go to Drivers and keys and add the new key fob, or scan the QR code on the box containing your key fob.

NOTE

  • Use the Rivian mobile app only. Setup isn’t available through the center display of the vehicle.
  • Only the vehicle owner can add a new key fob.

Schedule Your Drive

You can now create schedules in the Climate Schedule panel on the center display or in the Rivian mobile app to precondition the vehicle cabin and the high voltage battery before planned drives. For example, in cold climates, you can schedule your vehicle to warm up before an anticipated departure time. Go to Fan > Schedule on the center display and create as many schedules as you need.

  • Set the desired days and times of departure, cabin temperature, seat heat or ventilation, and steering wheel heat.
  • If you have a Time-of-Use program with your utility company, you can opt to draw power directly from the grid outside the set Charge Schedule (if the vehicle is plugged into a charger).

NOTE

Due to Time-of-Use pricing, keeping the vehicle plugged in outside the Charge Schedule could potentially incur unexpected utility costs. Check with your utility company to understand the pricing model for your charging location.

Driver Assistance Improvements

We updated 360° visualizations that appear on the driver display to improve your in-vehicle experience:

  • Increased stability of visualized vehicles during a drive.
  • Chevron icons in your lane are now used to show when the vehicle is slowing down for curves while Adaptive Cruise Control or Highway Assist is active.

Enhanced Lane Change on Command

Lane Change on Command can now accelerate the vehicle up to the set speed to locate a gap in the target lane before initiating a lane change. The blue path on the driver display shows a chevron animation to indicate when your vehicle is slowing down or accelerating to find a gap for Lane Change on Command. When the vehicle is slowing, the chevrons point toward the vehicle graphic on the driver display. When the vehicle is accelerating, the chevrons point away from the vehicle graphic.
