RivianTrackr Software Wishlist Top 5 Requests

When I first launched RivianTrackr, I launched it with a Software Wishlist where owners could submit feature ideas and vote on them to see what features owners want the most. The RivianTrackr Software Wishlist currently has over 600 requests with over 17,000 upvotes on requests. In this post, I wanted to take a look at the top 5 upvoted features that owners would like to see come to their Rivian vehicles. Any request that has been actively announced by Rivian to be coming in the future will not be mentioned in this post.

#5 – Add Clock to Driver’s Display

A simple request. All owners want is to have the time displayed on the Driver Display in front of the steering wheel instead of constantly having to look over to the top right corner of the center display. While we are at it, can we get some additional customizations to the Driver Display?

#4 – Red Light Notification

Red Light Notification would allow the Rivian driver to be alerted when the stoplight changes from red to green. Tesla currently has this feature where you hear a ding in the vehicle when the light changes. This would help drivers stay alert and eliminate unnecessary honking.

#3 – Manual Preconditioning Battery for DCFC

Currently, if you want to precondition the battery, you must go into your Navigation and select a DC Fast Charger (DCFC) to allow the battery to get to the perfect temperature to charge optimally. Owners would love to have the option to manually toggle preconditioning in such scenarios where the fast charger isn’t on the Navigation or if you don’t use the vehicle’s native Navigation and instead use something like ABRP.

Ever drop your Rivian off at valet and have trouble trusting those valet drivers with your expensive vehicle? Completely understandable! Owners would love to see Valet Mode come to Rivian just like Tesla introduced years ago. With Valet Mode, the speed would be limited, exterior storage areas would remain locked, and would require a pin to unlock it. Rivian has stated it would look into Valet Mode but nothing is confirmed yet.

Apple CarPlay is a very sensitive subject around the Rivian community but there are plenty of owners who would love to see this feature come to Rivian vehicles. Rivian has been hard at work creating their internal hardware/software integrated system which is set to exceed whatever CarPlay or Android Auto could present. Maybe Apple’s Gen 2 CarPlay? Don’t get your hopes too high.
