Rivian x HEST Camping Gear Back in Stock for Limited Pre-Sale
Back in December, Rivian teamed up with HEST to drop some co-branded camping accessories, including the HEST Camp Pillow and HEST Foamy Mattress designed specifically for the R1S. They sold out fast—like, really fast. But if you missed out, good news: they’re finally back for a limited pre-sale, available directly from HEST. It’s first come, first served, and orders will start shipping in April. There’s a four-per-person limit, so don’t go overboard.
The HEST Foamy for R1S runs $329 for one (or $658 for a full mattress setup) and was designed to fit perfectly in the back of the R1S, making car camping even more comfortable. It also rolls up into a compact bag for easy storage when not in use.
Then there’s the Rivian x HEST Camp Pillow for $109, which is basically the ultimate road trip pillow—memory foam, compact, and temperature-resistant so it keeps cool even when you’re on the go.

I was really onboard with the idea of trying out the HEST custom pads for the Rivian an was ready to buy a set for an astounding $658, but i was a little put off that they’ve been unavailable for SO long. Also, really no explanation why it was listed as an option and no ETA when it would be available again. I feel they must have believed, and mayby rightfully so, that people would wait around. Well, i had time to give them a second thought. I had a ExPED DUO for the longest time, and used it to car camp with my son in my Subaru Outback for years and i swear its more comfortable than my HOME mattress. Its low profile, at least more so than the HEST and its almost half as much. The ExPED MegaMat AUTO isn’t nesceyrirally a custom fit but it works perfectly for the Rivian R1S rear footprint.
Additionally, I will ALWAYS need the full mattress which means that if i DID get the HEST, buying the set would mean i would have a gap in the middle. With that said, i DO think its a viable option for anyone choosing to solo car camp…. Anyways, cant wait to get my MEGAMAT!!!
