Rivian Trades Movie Magic for Swamp Vibes in This Year’s Halloween Car Costume

Rivian’s Halloween mode is back, and this year’s Car Costume takes things to a whole new level. Inspired by Bayou Country, the latest chapter in Rivian’s Real Rivian Adventures campaign, it transforms your R1T or R1S into a swampy, fog-filled party on wheels.
If you remember last year’s Halloween Car Costumes, Rivian went all out with movie-inspired themes like Back to the Future and Knight Rider. They were a hit among owners but likely not cheap to pull off, since licensing big franchises can get expensive fast. You can check out my review of those here.
This time around, Rivian went fully original. The Bayou Country theme drops you into an eerie Southern swamp (did someone say Florida) with ambient frogs, crickets, and mysterious sounds drifting through the night. Add in moody lighting and visual touches inside the cabin, and it feels like a Halloween adventure rather than a movie tribute.
Rivian’s Halloween mode request the latest 2025.38 software update and Rivian mobile app version 3.6.0 which can be found in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
What are you thoughts on this Car Costume? Did Rivian nail it or are you sad we didn’t get some cool IP based costumes? Let me know in the comments below.

Is the Halloween car costume available for both generations?
Yes, the only difference is Gen 1 lightbar is only green so no fun colors on the exterior.
No getting any exterior sounds for GEn 1 either? Anyone confirm?
I hope this doesn’t break things like last years did.
did they bring back the zombies and witches?
Really liked that. Liked KITT and back to the future but was weak for Gen1.
But yes… lets keep it simple and focus on the other things that we still need/promised.
Sadly I did not spot any zombies or witches this year
to be honest if they just kept that I would be happy lol
Completely agree! I’d be happy with the basic Halloween mode from the first year rolling out on Oct. 1 each year so we have more than a week, too. My 10 year old son mentioned how much he missed the zombies, witches and headless horseman this year. The skins are cool, but you have to be parked and maybe we use them 2-3 times?!? Whereas the other features, including the driver display, “spookier” nature sounds, different interior colors, are things we actually get to use and see everyday.
Love that Rivian does this each year, but seems strange that already developed features like zombies and witches (with nearly zero cost) and other easy it implement features (like “spooky” interior colors) got left out.
It would be nice to play with the Halloween costumes/features for more than one week! Would love to have them push this out for the month of October in the future. They released it 10 days before Halloween and updates are slowly rolled out over several days….
