Rivian Strengthens Georgia Ties With $450,000 in Scholarships, Training, and STEM Support

Rivian is doubling down on Georgia, not just with factories, but by investing directly in people. Through new partnerships across the state, Rivian is helping build a local pipeline of engineers, technicians, veterans, and young innovators who will shape the future of electric mobility.

At Georgia Tech, the new Rivian Scholars program will provide $150,000 over three years in tuition support for juniors studying mechanical and electrical engineering, specifically targeting students from top engineering schools to keep talent in Georgia. At the University of Georgia, Rivian is contributing another $150,000 to launch an E-Mobility Pitch Competition within the Capstone Design program, along with a merit-based scholarship, with Rivian engineers mentoring and judging student projects.

On the technical side, Rivian is partnering with Georgia Piedmont Technical College to launch the Rivian Technical Trades Program in early 2026, integrating EV-specific training into the automotive curriculum and creating internships to support the growing EV service network in the Southeast. Rivian is also working with the Veterans Training Empowerment Center at Fort Benning on a 15-week EV maintenance program that will prepare transitioning service members for high-demand roles, with qualifying graduates offered jobs at Rivian.

Looking ahead, Rivian will serve as a top-level sponsor of the Georgia Science & Engineering Fair from 2026 to 2028, starting with a $25,000 investment and introducing the Rivian Innovation Award to recognize standout student projects in the physical sciences.

Altogether, Rivian’s approach shows a clear focus on building Georgia’s future workforce, ensuring the state plays a central role in the next generation of electric vehicle innovation.
