Rivian R2 Warranty Coverage Explained and How It Compares to R1
On the eve of the Rivian R2 going live, Rivian has shared the warranty terms, and every R2 carries the same coverage no matter the trim. Standard, Premium, and Performance all get 4 years or 50,000 miles comprehensive and 8 years or 120,000 miles on the battery and drive system. No upgrade tier, no difference between the base truck and the Performance.
That 120,000 mile battery coverage matches the entry R1 and not the higher trims, where it stretches to 150,000 miles on the bigger R1 configs and went as far as 175,000 on the old Gen 1 Quad Large. So R2 owners are getting the floor of the R1 lineup. For most people that is plenty, but if you were expecting the longer powertrain coverage to follow a bigger battery the way it does on R1, that is not happening at launch.
