Rivian R2 Ordering Opens June 9th With Performance Launch Edition at $57,990

Rivian announced today that R2 ordering opens June 9, Performance Launch Edition only. You can configure it on June 9 at $57,990, with delivery 2 to 6 weeks after your order is confirmed.
This is the loaded top of the range, same way Rivian opened R1 with the priciest version first. Dual-motor AWD, 656 hp, 609 lb-ft, 3.6 seconds to 60, semi-active suspension you can’t get on any other trim, 21-inch wheels, around 330 miles of range. The Launch Package piles on lifetime Autonomy+, the tow setup, a Launch Green key fob, and the exclusive Launch Green paint, worth roughly $3,700 before you touch the performance hardware.
Invites roll out in batches starting June 9. Reservation timestamp and delivery location matter most, and living near a Rivian Service or Demo Center generally helps. R1 owners get bumped up, though Rivian is balancing that with non-owners so the line keeps moving. There’s a lease expiration field in your Rivian Account if yours is winding down, and Rivian-originated leases are already covered. They’re also seeding random reservation holders into early batches to sharpen the timing picture, which is nicer than the usual silence.

Premium comes late 2026, Standard in 2027. Demo drives kick off June 9 at Rivian Spaces too, with invited reservation holders ahead of the line for slots.
Anyway. After two years of teasers, the R2 is something you can actually order, just not the version most people have been waiting for. I’ll get a configurator walkthrough and pricing breakdown up once I’ve put a build together myself.

Do we know if ordering will open for everyone, just R1 owners, or just a specific number of people (ex: the first 5,000 or 10,000 on the list)?
R1T owner since 2024. Owned a 22 quad, 25 DMP, and now a 25 Tri. Id be lying if I wasnt hoping my early 2026 reservation isnt greatly accelerated due to being an R1 owner for a few years. We shall see on the 9th. Hopes, not so up! LMAO
Now we just need to know what the lease/finance options will be!
