Rivian Now Allows Referral Codes on Custom Orders

Rivian just made a big change to its referral program—custom pre-orders can finally use referral codes!

When Rivian Rewards launched in August 2024, you could only earn points and free Adventure Network charging if someone bought a vehicle through the R1 Shop. If you wanted a custom build? No referral perks for you. That changes today! Now, if you’ve been holding out for your perfect R1T or R1S configuration, you can finally order it and apply a referral code for those sweet, sweet rewards.

Of course, there’s a tradeoff. Custom orders still require a $1,000 deposit and take 8-12 weeks to deliver, compared to the much faster 1-6 weeks for R1 Shop purchases. But if you’ve got a dream spec in mind, it’s great to finally have this option without missing out on the referral benefits.
