Rivian Is Building a Massive New Space Right in Orlando’s Tourist Corridor

Rivian is expanding its Orlando footprint in a big way. The company is constructing a new 40,000 square foot facility right off I-4 across from the Millenia Mall, and it’s going to serve as a combined showroom, service center, and charging hub all in one spot.

I stopped by the site today to grab some photos, and right now it’s just a cleared lot. But once work goes vertical later this year, this thing is going to come together fast.

It makes a lot of sense that Rivian is doubling down here. Orlando has been one of the brand’s strongest markets since day one, and as the home of RivianTrackr, I’ve had a front row seat to just how fast this community has grown. There’s also a deeper connection to the area than most people realize. Rivian’s name comes from the Indian River Lagoon right here in Florida, so Central Florida has always been a little more than just another dot on the expansion map.

The Orlando service story has evolved a lot over the past few years. The original location off Jetstream Drive was instrumental in helping Rivian ramp R1 deliveries in the area, but it outgrew that space pretty quickly. Jetstream still handles more critical repairs and recall work. Then last July, Rivian opened a second service center off Shader Road, and that location has been a hit, with fast turnaround times and a convenient pickup spot for new owners taking delivery.

This new Millenia-area location feels like the next logical step. Putting a high-visibility showroom right in the heart of the tourist corridor means a lot of eyes on the brand, including plenty of out-of-state visitors who might not have a Rivian Space back home.

I’ll be monitoring this location and will share more details as construction picks up.

  1. Thanks for sharing! I’m another Orlando here and daily reader of your wonderful site. Don’t own yet but R2 reservation holder (after owning 3 Teslas) and counting the days until I can join the Rivian family. Do you ever host local meet-ups? We’re planning on going down to Miami for R2 “block party” next month.

  2. A 40,000 square foot showroom, service center, and charging hub all in one spot right off I-4 is a serious commitment to the market. The Indian River Lagoon connection to the brand name makes this one feel a little more personal too. We covered this today at nexusEVnews.

  3. Jose…this is a very good location and pretty easy access, for the most part. Looking forward to the move. Hopefully, this won’t take them too long.
