Rivian Is Adding Battery Pack Health Visibility via OTA

Rivian owners are getting a dedicated battery health screen, and it’s coming over the air. The feature showed up in the R2’s EPA documentation and gives you a real look at how your pack is doing: state of health as a percentage, max potential charge rate, and current charge rate, all accessible right from the About screen in your vehicle settings.

That’s a big deal for people who’ve been guessing at their battery’s condition or had to schedule a service visit just to get a straight answer. Being able to pull up a number like 98.5% state of health on your own, without involving a service center, is exactly the kind of transparency EV owners have wanted for a long time.

It also fits the direction Rivian’s been heading generally, putting more information and control in the owner’s hands through software.

No OTA date confirmed yet, but it’s in the pipeline.

  1. That will be a very welcomed feature! Surprised the gen 1’s don’t have this feature yet.
