Rivian Expanding to Milpitas, CA with New Facility

Rivian is expanding to Milpitas, a city in the heart of Silicon Valley, with plans for a new facility at 755 Yosemite Drive. The city announced the partnership, with Mayor Carmen Montano calling it a win for local jobs, sustainability, and economic growth. On March 4, the City Council unanimously approved the move, solidifying Rivian’s role in the community.

While Rivian hasn’t confirmed how this facility will be used, its presence aligns with Milpitas’ push for tech and sustainability growth. With 14,000 employees worldwide—4,000 in California—the company continues to expand. Expect Rivian to settle in by late 2025.

The news was first reported by The Milpitas Beat, which highlighted the city’s enthusiasm for Rivian’s arrival and its potential impact on the local economy. The publication noted that Rivian’s move reinforces Milpitas’ growing role in the Bay Area’s tech and innovation landscape.
