Rivian Community Volunteers Make a Big Impact for Earth Day

On Saturday, April 19th, 2025, the Emerald City Rivian Club, based in Seattle, returned to Roosevelt and Pacific Beach on the Washington Coast for their third annual Earth Day beach cleanup. This year marked their biggest turnout yet, with 31 Rivians, 64 volunteers, and 10 furry friends joining forces to keep the coast clean.

Volunteers found some unusual items, including an old mini-fridge, a tire (complete with a snake inside!), concrete blocks, sliding door frames, car seats, and various smaller debris. Encouragingly, the total amount of trash collected this year was significantly lighter than previous cleanups, suggesting beach visitors are leaving less litter behind.

Future Volunteering Efforts

Now more than ever, volunteering to protect our environment is essential. Emerald City Rivian Club has expanded their efforts by partnering with local National Forest Service Rangers to organize future cleanups along trails. Many public land agencies have experienced recent layoffs, making volunteer support even more critical. The club encourages other communities and Rivian clubs to reach out to their local public land offices to explore opportunities for volunteer work.

For those looking to make an impact, another fantastic organization to partner with Tread Lightly!, which maintains strong connections with Rivian corporate and the Rivian Clubs of America. They offer excellent resources for collaborating on meaningful environmental initiatives.

Keep the World Adventurous Forever

These volunteer events showcase the impact communities can have when coming together. This aligns directly with Rivian’s broader sustainability mission, known as Forever.

Through Forever, Rivian emphasizes taking extraordinary steps to combat climate change and protect essential ecosystems that sustain life on Earth. By volunteering to keep beaches and trails clean, communities support the goals of Forever: reducing environmental impact, restoring natural landscapes, and inspiring sustainable living.
