Rivian Commercial Delivery Van Hits Bring a Trailer Auction

A rare chance to snag a Rivian Commercial Delivery Van popped up on Bring a Trailer, where bidding has already reached $33,500 at the time of writing. Rivian normally only sells these vans directly to fleet owners through its website, so this might be one of the only ways for an individual buyer to get their hands on one.
The listing is for the Delivery 500, which is the smaller of Rivian’s two commercial van offerings. It comes with 161 miles of range, 487 cubic feet of cargo space, a payload capacity of 2,663 pounds, a 9,500-lb GVWR, and front-wheel drive. Rivian’s official starting price is $79,900 plus a $3,000 destination fee, so the current bid is less than half of the MSRP. You can see the full spec sheet directly from Rivian here.

This specific van is being sold out of Ohio with just 261 miles on the odometer. It’s finished in Glacier White and looks ready for duty whether that’s joining a small business fleet or being converted into a unique #VanLife project. According to Carfax, it has a clean history with no accidents or reported damage. One open question is software updates, since Rivian hasn’t clarified how updates are handled for commercial vans outside of official fleet ownership, buyers should keep that in mind.
The auction runs until Wednesday, September 17 on Bring a Trailer. With Rivian’s commercial vans rarely hitting the resale market, it’ll be interesting to see where the final hammer price lands.
