Rivian 21” Wheel Owners Now Have 5 Tire Options, Including the First All-Terrain

For the longest time, Rivian owners running the 21″ Aero wheels were stuck with a single tire: the pricey Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Elect. When it came time to replace or swap, there just weren’t any alternatives. That’s finally changing.
Rivian 21” owners now have five options available in the stock 275/55R21 size, covering everything from quiet all-season comfort to a brand-new all-terrain tire for those who like to venture off the pavement.
This is huge news for R1T and R1S drivers who didn’t want to give up their 21s just to gain some versatility. Let’s take a look at all five options, now live on my RivianTrackr Tire Guide, complete with pricing (affiliate links), warranty info, and my Efficiency Ratings to help you compare them side by side.
Tire | Category | Average Price | Warranty | Weight | 3PMS | Efficiency Grade |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 | All-Season | $354 | 70k miles | 39 lb | No | B |
Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Elect | All-Season | $486 | None | 37 lb | No | B |
Bridgestone Alenza Prestige | All-Season | $360 | 70k miles | 40 lb | No | B |
Hankook iON HT | All-Season | $235 | 80k miles | 44 lb | No | B |
Yokohama Geolandar A/T4 | All-Terrain | $408 | None | 44 lb | Yes | C |
The standout newcomer here is the Yokohama Geolandar A/T4, the first and only all-terrain tire for the 21-inch Aero wheels. It’s 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake rated, meaning it’s certified for severe snow service, and should appeal to drivers looking for better traction on dirt, gravel, and winter roads without jumping to 20-inch wheels.

For everyday driving, the Hankook iON HT is the best value by far with its 80,000-mile warranty and solid efficiency rating, though it’s a bit heavier. The Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 and Bridgestone Alenza Prestige both offer premium longevity and quiet comfort, while the original Pirelli Scorpion Verde Elect remains a decent OEM match if you’re sticking to stock performance and efficiency.
