New Electrify America Site With Alpitronic Chargers Spotted in Florida

Electrify America is partnering with Alpitronic to roll out a new generation of DC fast chargers, and the first confirmed location is at the Florida Mall in Orlando, FL. The chargers are still fenced off and under construction, but things are moving along. I’ll be keeping an eye on the site and plan to check them out as soon as they go live.

These new units are the Alpitronic Hypercharger 400, capable of delivering up to 400 kW of charging power. That’s a major upgrade over most of Electrify America’s current hardware and could mean shorter charging times and better reliability for EV drivers.

If the chargers look familiar, you’re not imagining things — they’re the same Alpitronic Hyperchargers being used by IONNA, the joint venture between major automakers like BMW, Hyundai, and GM. I saw them in person last year when I visited the IONNA site in Apex, North Carolina, and they left a solid impression.

Shoutout to Adam for spotting the construction and sharing it online — always appreciate having more eyes in the field.
