First Real-World Look at the Rivian R2 in Forest Green from the Palo Alto Block Party

The first R2 in Forest Green has been spotted in person at the Palo Alto stop of the R2 Block Party, courtesy of Reddit user u/AliveButterscotch319 who shared photos with the community.

Forest Green reads way richer and glossier than the R2 configurator rendering suggested. On the website it looks flatter and more muted, which had a lot of people unsure about it. In real light it pops with way more depth and shine. R1 owners already know how good this color looks in person since Forest Green has been available on the R1 lineup, but seeing it translate onto the smaller R2 body is a different vibe entirely.

Next to Launch Green the difference is obvious too. Launch Green leans lighter and olive, while Forest Green goes deeper and more saturated.

Worth remembering that Forest Green and Borealis aren’t part of the Launch Edition R2. Both colors are coming later in 2026, so if either is your pick, you’re waiting.
